I LOVE Nick's. This place is only a few blocks away from where I live aka walking distance aka DANGEROUS! I mean, when I first moved here, I went here with my bf 2 weekends in a row. And I would come back again if we didn't have so many other things to do on the weekends lol. Just writing this review makes me drool a little bit..

I've tried their carne asada, pollo asada, pescado, and camarones tacos, both Nick's way and regular. Nick's way is basically instead of 2 soft corn tortillas, the inner tortilla is crisped up! And they also add cheese and guac as well. My opinion? Nick's way is the ONLY way. I think that inner crispy tortilla is genius, and adds a whole lotta layers to the otherwise simple taco. As far as the fillings go, I think all of them are delicious! It all just depends on your mood.

We've also tried their chips and salsa with guac, which is crispy, delicious, and plentiful. It's definitely a great starter/snack, especially since there's also 2 bottles of red and green salsas on each table. I also love salsa all over my tacos! The green one is my favorite, but they're both good.

They also have street tacos, which is the tacos of my life, and would usually be my go-to order if I'm eating tacos. But I haven't tried those yet here because this place is called Nick's Crispy Tacos.. and I dunno if street tacos in SF can compare to the street tacos in LA. I might try those one day. I definitely wanna try a whole bunch of other things on their menu, like the nachos, poppers, elote, as well as their quesadillas! It's just hard to order anything else because those crispy tacos are so damn good.

Also I have to mention, these tacos are NOT cheap. They're about $5-6 each, and Nick's way is like an extra $1.25 each taco. So for a couple of tacos it could cost you like $15. I was a bit surprised the first time, when me and my bf were paying and the total was over $50. I might have to add, I'm from LA so I'm not quite used to paying so much for tacos lol. I could also probably check prices before making purchases/ordering lol. BUT... fuck it, it's delicious. Plus, these tacos are huge. When I'm eating street tacos, I usually order like 5 or 6 depending on where they're from, but 2 of these crispy tacos will send me into a hardxcore nap. Plus the chips and salsa/guac also fill me up. We can't usually finish all this lol.

The place itself is kinda... interesting. It's part of a bar with a DJ, which means it gets loud if you come at night when it's poppin lol. Not sure if that's every single day, but I've gone on the weekends and it's like that both times. I'm not into it lol but the food is so good that I don't really care.

    I'll be back soon. Obviously.

We came here for Nick's Taco Tuesday. It's best to reserve a table before coming because after 6pm, the place is always crowded. The taco is nicely stuffed and partially crispy. The small chips with Salsa and Guac is big enough for one person portion. Staff is friendly and taste is great!

***Need to bring *cash only* to buy Tacos and other food menus. The bar accepts credit card.

San Francisco is a haven for great Mexican fares and Nick's Crispy Tacos is no exception!

The interior is adorned with red velvet booths and crystal chandeliers lending to a stylish French charm.

Nick's does things deliciously well with no shortage of options to fix your cravings, including everything from grilled prawns and fish to steak and chicken tucked in a flour or corn tortilla.

We opted for steak and prawn tacos. Seafood takes center stage at Nick's. But the true star is the steak taco. The enormous taco comes in two tortilla shells topped with cabbage, cilantro, pico de gallo, cheese and guac prepared "Nick's way" giving it the crispy exterior. A dash of Nick's specialty sauce and a splash of lime brings it all together. Everything was delicious and all are customizable to your palates.

Wash it down with a drink off the spot's extensive cocktail menu. Margaritas goes great with your tacos!

This Mexican staple is on the pricier side of things but, it's worth it!

Although the food and service here were good, the cleanliness and cash-only payment system detracted from our overall experience.

A bar and taco joint, you get exactly what you're expecting in terms of the atmosphere at Nick's Crispy Taco. A red interior, with red velvet booths, a ceiling full of chandeliers, and a sparkling center bar all very much scream late-night joint. However, while the interior feels clean from afar, it appears as though it is not well maintained as the booth my partner and I sat in was clearly covered in a great deal of dust.

Based on our servers recommendations, we ordered the fried chicken and carnitas "Nick-style" tacos and pollo and steak Street-style tacos to share. The street tacos were by-far our favorite of the overall order, and the pollo especially. However, we were both disappointed by the Nick-style tacos as they felt more topping-heavy than meat-heavy (particularly the carnitas Taco). Furthermore, while the fried chicken has the potential to be a good order, I found ours was pretty dry.

Although service was excellent, my partner and I was both off-put by the overall cleanliness of the facility and by the cups we were provided. The first glass given to my partner had lipstick stains on it, and the next had some gunk on it as well.

Overall: While I would consider visiting this spot again in the future for the street tacos, the cleanliness of the space will probably stop me from actually going.
